Cool Elementalist armor

I'm just now in post-sear with an new E/Ne.....just wondering if there are recommendations for upgrading armor...types...what runes to add etc...should I get the armor in droks etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. I'm using fire mainly now...but most likely will be using air/earth later.

My typical path for armor with just Prophecies is:

Buy armor at Ascalon.
Upgrade to collectors armor in jungle.
Upgrade to collectors armor in desert.
Buy final armor in Droknars, including alternate hats for each desired attribute.

Initially I use only minor runes, for elementalist it would be fire (+ fire hat), earth and energy storage. Once level 20 and health is maxed then I start using a superior in the hat so as to get to 16 in that element.

With Factions added I go from Lions Arch to Kaineng and get max armor and level to 20.

so if money is no object you recommend that vs. running to droks for the 60 al there? Thanks much for the reply! (though this might make sense if I decide to switch to air for example later.)

What Loviatar said, for now. That armor will serve you well until you hit the later stages of the game. The armor available gets progressively better as you advance through the game, and you'll also be able to save some gold by getting armor from collectors.

The highest level of armor is first available from collectors in the Desert area and from crafters in Droknar's Forge, but the level 30 stuff take good care of you for quite a while, at least until you hit the jungle areas(after the Divinity Coast Mission)

If this is your first time thru the game then no, I do not recommend any runs, just play the game. If you've already been thru and have no cash concerns, then sure, get max armor as soon as possible.

Note that armor is defensive except for the hat. That is to say that pyromancers armor is added protection from fire, rather than boosting your fire skills. So an air mage can wear whatever type of armor desired but would want an air "hat" with an air rune in it to boost air skills power.

good point, Dean....I was thinking the armor would help those attributes, but I suppose that's where the runes come in. Hmm..makes it interesting to decide what to go for. (btw...have gone through the game as a warrior, have cash, but an absolute noob as an elementalist.....
